Cloud Cost Management (CCM) provides reports for Cost Saving Opportunities (CSO), for Bill Analysis, and for Cost vs Utilization (CvU). The Cost Saving Opportunities report includes information for both Idle Resources and Right Sizing. Reports can be viewed in a browser, downloaded for offline viewing, or emailed to select recipients.
Some parameters for the Bill Analysis and CvU reports can be modified by editing an existing report from the report page. You cannot modify CSO report output from the CSO page. However, additional parameters for the CSO reports and CvU reports can be modified by assigning policies to a data source.
In addition to being emailed to the user, reports are saved and viewable in the CCM console. If an organization is deleted, the saved reports associated with the organization are also deleted.
When a user is removed from an organization, that user is also automatically removed from the recipient list for emailed reports.

Default reports for Cost Saving Opportunities, Bill Analysis, and Cost vs Utilization are automatically created and distributed by Cloud Cost Management (CCM). All CCM users will receive scheduled reports for each cloud service integration that is configured in CCM. By default, all reports are sent daily at 12 AM, based on the server's defined UTC timezone. But you can change the frequency for emailing reports.
To receive report emails, the CCM module must be enabled, an organization must be created, and at least one data source integration must be configured in Virtana Platform.
When new users are added to an Organization in the CCM module, the users are automatically added to the recipient list for any default scheduled reports. The recipient list for any emailed reports can be manually modified to add or delete users.
The options assigned to a Default report cannot be changed for that report, and the report cannot be deleted. However, from the Bill Analysis and CvU report pages, you can make changes to the default report settings and save them under a different report name.
You can immediately email an existing report or schedule existing reports to be emailed on a regular basis.
For right-sizing, only the most recent recommendations can be emailed. You can view right sizing recommendations for prior weeks, but you can't save or email the data. You can take a screenshot.
If working under a Free License, following expiration of a Pro Trial License, report output will be limited.
Note
If an email report is not received when expected, it might be because the report has no output. Sometimes the settings for a report do not apply to any resources in your environment. When that happens, the report will be empty, displaying no results. If the report is set up for email, a report might not be sent.
About This Task
All reports are automatically sent daily at 13:00 UTC by default. You can modify the schedule from the Edit Scheduled Report form. You can change the frequency of emails, but not the time of day they are sent.
When users are added to Virtana Platform, they are automatically added to the recipient list for email reports. Other email addresses can be added manually, so emails can be sent to those who are not registered Virtana Platform users, such as managers or executives.
Tip
You can set up emails for distribution lists or configure a Slack email integration.
If you are working under a Free License, access to features in Cloud Cost Management (CCM) are limited. Report output is restricted to only a summary of potential savings based on idle resource and right-sizing recommendations. You can email those summaries of the idle resource and right-sizing reports.
Prerequisites
The report to be scheduled must already exist and be available to you in Cloud Cost Management (CCM).
Reports can be scheduled to have automated emails sent to select recipients. Any Cloud Cost Management (CCM) users can add or remove recipients, including themselves, from email schedules for any CCM reports.
Email schedules for reports can be created or modified by clicking the Scheduled Reports icon at the upper right of any report page.
The way you modify and view reports is basically the same for all report types in Cloud Cost Management (CCM) . To view a report, you must select a report filter and a time range, For Bill Analysis and CvU reports, you can then modify the report settings to customize the report results.
The following image provides an example of some of the actions you can take on customize reports, when working under a Pro or Trial License. A Free License has limited output in reports.
When you modify the various options and filters for the report and close the Settings form, you can immediately see the changes in the Summary and Cost Details. Following are example images of the default settings for the Cost vs Utilization report. The images show how the settings in the form (first image below) correspond to the elements in the report (second image below).
The following image shows the report elements as they relate to the report settings.
The date range picker offers various time ranges to choose from when viewing reports. You can select a specific month, the current quarter, or year to date. You can also create a custom time range.
To set a custom time range, open the calendar and click on the beginning and ending dates you want for your report. Alternatively, you can type the dates in the date fields, in the order month/day/year. The date picker allows for flexible date formats, such as 10/23/2022 or 10.23.22 or Oct 23, 2022, etc.
For example, assume the current month displays November 1 through 30, but you want to see data for October 23 through November 20.
Click the October 23 date or type the date in the calendar to set the start of the time range. Then click or type the November 20 date and Apply.
