New Features! Powerful New UI Enhancements for IPM!
Here’s another post in our series about new features and capabilities for IPM. This release includes capabilities that will make searching for and updating info faster and easier to accomplish.
Interconnected browsing and search experience for IPM entity data.
IPM currently collects and stores a plethora of invaluable performance, utilization, and health data. To maximize the value of that data, we have developed a new easy-to-use UI that allows you to view this data and the relationships of objects to each other. The UI results in a more intuitive navigation through the device hierarchy, which makes it easier and faster to solve issues and find answers.
Clickable entities, file-based alarm thresholds and device summary pages.
In addition to the previously mentioned UI enhancements, we are simplifying the product workflows to make it even easier to navigate Virtana IPM! These updates include new summary pages by device type and the ability to navigate between devices based on entity names that now always have a clickable link. Now, when you use IPM, you’ll notice that:
- All locations in the UI where you see a referenced entity is an active link that will take you to that entity’s detail page.
- All Device categories (e.g., arrays, switches, hosts, etc.) have a summary page where you can view, sort, and filter all items of that type.
- Every displayed metric value (e.g., current CPU utilization on a host) allows you to click on that, which then launches a report which graphs that value over time.
